How to play Powerball from India

You are betting on the result, not buying a US ticket

This is the first thing to be clear about, because most pages on this subject are not. Powerball tickets are sold by US state lotteries to people physically in those states. Quick Lotto does not sell them, does not courier them, and is not an agent for any lottery. What you place here is a FIXED-ODDS BET on the numbers that draw produces.

The practical difference is who pays you. A ticket makes the state lottery liable for your prize; a bet makes us liable. You are matched against the same published numbers either way, but the money comes from us, in rupees, into the same wallet you deposited to.

What that changes in your favour, and what it does not

In your favour: there is no ticket to lose, no claim form, no US tax withholding on the payout, and no minimum line count. Prizes are credited automatically when the draw settles — there is nothing to claim and no deadline to miss. You can also bet a single line, which a real ticket often cannot.

Not in your favour: a fixed-odds bet pays the published multiple of your line price, and that is a different number from the headline jackpot a US ticket-holder would win. The rate for every match tier is on the draw’s own page before you bet. Read it — a guide that told you the jackpot figure and stopped would be describing a product you are not buying.

When Powerball is drawn, in Indian time

Powerball draws on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights in the United States, which lands in the early hours of Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in India. The exact time in IST, and the moment betting closes, are on the Powerball page — computed from the real draw calendar rather than written down here, because US daylight saving moves it twice a year and a date typed into a guide would be wrong for half of it.
